Friends

Today was a day of doing part-time work at DH's place. I loosely use the term part-time here cause I barely did anything for him today. I guess selling my time is a kind of part-time work too.

Makes me wonder what life would be for the majority should robots take over the majority of jobs in this world. Seriously. I think it's really Really important to keep learning something. It's going to be an uphill battle against redundancy from now till I die.

I thought this was pretty cool. Finding success by beating the system. It's not dirrrrtyy stuff despite the title. https://www.scotthyoung.com/blog/2012/02/06/sex-scandal-technique/

Today's appreciation topic: Friends. I went out with DH to meet a supplier whom DH was seeking out to see if they can do some machining for him. Ultra-precision machining, sounds like sexy engineering I must say. Well after that it was lunch time and we called another friend CC along since we were very near his place and he was technically not working yet. So we fetched him, and headed to Jurong East Central for lunch cause hey, CC's heading to the library afterwards to work on his stuff.

We had a simple lunch, and then DH suggested heading to McDonalds for a drink. There I was thinking, whoever goes to McDonalds for a drink? But yeah why not right. So we were there, drinking. Just some casual chit-chatting.

And then as we were leaving, lo and behold, we actually spotted yet another friend, SQ, at McDonalds as well, having a drink with his aged parents too! Yes, perhaps it IS a norm to drink at McDonalds. I'm the oddity.

SQ's a full-time tutor thus he has free time in the day. And as it was unplanned, it was a pleasant surprise indeed, almost like in the past when I bumped into this gang of friends in Venice unplanned.

Friends. Always lovely to have them in my life, and even better when you suddenly see them and are genuinely happy to see them :)
