HR - Human Relationships

It's been 3, going 4 days of activities since the last entry. Nothing rollercoaster has happened (including a USS trip that didn't materialise hai), but it's been meaningful still thanks to HR.

Human Relationships. I guess we all crave social life, to differing degrees of course. Again, I feel blessed for the interactions I've had with people who matter :)

A quick summary: Saturday was swimming, pigging & chillaxing day with the SO. Nothing fanciful, just playing water at the awesome swimming complex, then having fried chicken, and just watching a movie together :)

Sunday lunch: Korean BBQ with the uni orientation gang. Just a small group of 6, but still appreciative of how a few of us still can gather and chat and catch up on life. Married couple, newly attached, no new gossips, but the camaraderie will hopefully continue to exist ba even as we travel for work and face new challenges in life.

Monday with the SO who took the day off. It was meant to be USS day but the ticket sellers with an outrageous ticket deal on Carousell went MIA with replies. Sad, but perhaps we avoided a possible pitfall? Anyways it turned into goggle hunting, eating, walking and snapping some pics at Sungei Buloh, and another simple chillax dinner at this quaint little burger joint in Timah called Little Hiro. Notbad! Oh and the reminiscing at Island Creamery too, pretty cool. It's been too long since the last visit omg.

Today's programme: a trip to JB with an ex col. Flashback to the past when I first joined the old company and this guy was beside me and the first guy I spoke to. Fast forward 7 years and we are still hanging out (since we ain't working), feasting on seafood and shopping for diapers (him) and preparing for our new jobs. Gonna be seeing more of him in future (hint: Same. Coy.) and I hope we continue to help each other in future :)

And then the messaging with friends over whatsapp & facebook. The brudder & sista talking about me and then messaging me to ask about the SO lol. I guess it feels good that I have them, even if we don't meet up much nowadays already. (the brudder I met at the cat show though, which sparked everything lol) And then there's the other sista, my sista in NZ who helped me with specs advice since the bf is an optician :)

As I cycled around the neighbourhood at night occasionally and see people just catching up at void decks, sometimes I feel a tinge of envy. It may be a simple act of gathering to catch up, but it seems time is a luxury item nowadays. Yet, with these interactions with people who matter, I feel silly for feeling envious too. For it's not the proximity or the frequency of meeting people, but to have them around when you need them, whether if it's a message or phone call away.

Human Relationships. I wanna be a HR manager. For life.
